Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Feb 22, 2012 2:36 pm I have recently had a exposed aggregate driveway laid and it was very patchy, The concreter tried to sand blast it twice and that didnt help. He then tried to hone it and has now totally wrecked it. he has offered to rip it up and replace it but I dont want him working on it anymore. Am I able to make him pay for replacement and removal of the driveway. He has made such a mess of my house its not funny, dust and concrete everywhere. Re: Who is responsible? 2Feb 22, 2012 4:50 pm At least he has offered to continue to remedy the problem. Is it a fault of the concreter, or the batched mix that was supplied? If it was a fault in the batching, I'd let him go for it. If he's the one who has stuffed up then I would be asking for someone else. Re: Who is responsible? 3Mar 13, 2012 1:09 pm I would let him rip it up and redo it, at least he would probably try and make sure it is perfect. It could be a little tricky (in terms of both time and money) to get him to pay for someone else to do it. That and you'll just probably put him off side if you mention it. Re: Who is responsible? 5Mar 29, 2012 10:32 am get him to do it and ask he gets an extra man on hand and that its done early in the morning to make the job easier for him.. concretors usually get caught out like this when they havent got enough workers for the pour, especially when this is combined with a warm day. They get overstretched and dont get the retardent on in time. |
