Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Apr 06, 2009 9:10 pm G'day, please can any one help me with some suggestions? I'm after some advice. Has any one delt with a similar problem? I've tried a search but cant quite seem to find the answers i'm after I'm starting on a Patio project, and i'm after some paving advice. I'm going to pull down the shabby old flat roof extension some one else put on my home years ago, and i want to put in a new Gable roof patio! I've planed to pull down all the existing brick walls etc, and basically start again from scratch. problem *the existing extension has been built on a concrete slab. I imagine it would look much better to have every thing matching if possible. Option 1) i wanted to simply build a deck over the concrete slab and over the concrete tiles and leave the brick paving as is..... problem is that i've been told i cant build a deck with out removing the slab also deck = serious $$$. after the patio i've only got about $4000 to do around 80m2 worth (this does not include the brick paving area Option 2) I spoke to a guy from the yellow pages who said re could paint/bleech the brick. This is a good option because it should be relatively cheap to just buy 80m2 worth of brick paving to match the size of the existing then color the whole lot. just have to pull up the slab has any one out there had their brick paving re-colored? something a bit more modern looking? any pics? how did it turn out? any suggestions as to how I can easily re-color the brick with lasting results? doest it look any good? any suggestions? pics? thanks - please excuse the massive 1st post Will - After some ideas on making our patio kid friendly .
