Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Apr 02, 2009 7:49 pm Hi Guys Tonight we went pass the house and the sides have been laid with the aggregate concrete. To say I am very concerned about the job they did would be an understatement It is all very uneven along the side, not one part of it seems level. I know we have drains but it just dosent look right. The concrete also has a pink tinge to it so I assume this is part of the process and they will spray it tomorrow? I tried to find the process in a search but if anybody tell me how it is done I would greatly appreciate it. I know we cant do anything tonight but tomorrow Mr B is going to ring our builder if just to be reassured that its all right. Our builder is spot on with quality control when it comes to good craftsmanship and we have had so many things redone until they are perfect. Any comment would be good at this stage it just dosent look right. Mrs B Re: Aggregate Paving does not look right? 2Apr 02, 2009 9:46 pm Hey Mrs B, do you have any pics to show us what you mean? With exposed agg concrete, the concretors can either pour a pre-mix (concrete and aggregate) to form and then they come back, usually the next day to high pressure hose it off. There are a couple of different ways of finishing it off though, like grinding and polishing for a smoother surface? But your title says its paving so are they laying slabs? or pouring the concrete as a whole and then perhaps sawcutting it to shape? What part of it is uneven, is it the edges? or the whole thing? A pic would be great! I hope Mr B will be able to sort it out tomorrow but your builder, being fussy will be right onto it no problems. I'm sure he only wants you happy Mrs B! I'm sure it will look wonderful when its all done.... Re: Aggregate Paving does not look right? 3Apr 02, 2009 10:09 pm The pink colour is likely "reveal" or 3-5 basically sugar and prolly washed of next day. But these days, you should be getting a good job so show us some pics . onc Where you are coming from is where you are going to... They using concrete or timber sleepers? Timber or steel uprights? Any drainage behind sleeper? 3 6139 Last year I had a gas leak at my house. 3 days later, I have about 1 sqm of my exposed aggregate paving broken up. I am not sure how to go about getting it repaired… 0 10568 |
