The right thing to do is to concrete/pave the base but I don't want to spend the money because eventually I will build a rumpus on the area (in 2 years time). I wonder if there is a quick, dirty & cheap way to prepare a base for the BBQ table. I was thinking of laying a few layers of tarp & place large square paving clay tiles neatly on top. Secure the edges with lengths of wood hammered into the soil. I don't mind if the base is not level so long as weeds won't grow through it. Would appreciate any better ideas. Cheers. 1.
