I hope not that is $800 CU mtr the most WE have paid is $457CU for a very special mix. You need the conc removed at their cost and you will pay for the new job... That job of your's was stuffed up by inexperience. The cost of the apprenticship is removal and replacement and you only pay once Where you are coming from is where you are going to... Re: Should our driveway look like this?!? 22May 14, 2009 12:16 pm OMG sorry.... did you say that you hosed it down? Ah, thats really bad. Why did you hose it down. You paid a professional to do the job, you should not have to lift a finger.. We have a concreting business in Brisbane and I'm really sorry to say but thats once of the worst exposed I have seen. Let us know how it all works out. very hard to fix once its been stuffed up that bad. Looks very slopy around the edges too... I really cant stress how important it is for people to reasech the company and person they use for the job. Re: Should our driveway look like this?!? 23May 16, 2009 1:05 pm I think they meant they hosed it down in the days afterwards to improve curing. Definately left too long before the spraying of the slurry off the top, and not enough stone exposed. As davinci said sandblasting is an option but will make it look a bit rougher too. They might not have trowelled it properly so the finish wouldn't be as good anyway. The conc should be finished so the stone through the mix if evenly distributed. It's a hard one, I would be asking for replacement of the concrete if you aren't happy but do it in a diplomatic way, and I'm sure the tradesman would be more inclined to be accommodating. Re: Should our driveway look like this?!? 24May 17, 2009 12:43 am I have a mate in the business and saw him do his own exposed ag drive. They sprayed on sugar soap and just hosed off the top layer as it was going off, or was it the next morning? Can't remember now. No high pressure cleaner was used and the drive was flawless Re: Should our driveway look like this?!? 25May 26, 2009 12:43 am UPDATE: We ended up paying for plain grey concrete which was essentially the cost of materials with no labour. The chemicals helped a bit and luckily the worst patches are not in the alfresco where we would notice it more. Moral of the story... always be home when there's a tradie working on the house and never have work done on the Friday before a long weekend! No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed. I’m not sure what was removed, as it was done quite some time ago - well before what I can see with photos online… 2 9119 The estate Covenants (design requirements) must be included in the land contract.
