Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Feb 27, 2009 6:48 pm Hey guys and girls my first post here =)
Im setting up a blog now for a house i designed so it should be up soon. Im building by myself (im single) in the lyndarum estate in epping vic. Its only little compared to the massive things ive seen on here but its enough for me. Been reading for a while but signed up now that my house has started. Now my question i'm reading all sorts of prices for aggregate. I am confused. I do home theater installs / it tech support / cars stereos / anything u want me to do. So have alot of customers ( tradies) and getting quotes all over the place form 60sqm to 150sqm im trying to work out the diff. I want to do a 42sqm outside area and a driveway. Can someone explain what im missing? and is walking on aggregate with bare feet an issue? Mark Re: Exposed aggregate 2Feb 27, 2009 7:12 pm Hi Jazzy4 and welcome to the forum.
Your quote will vary allot depending on the mix you use for the exposed agg. Also you will need to know what you are getting for your quoted price per SqM, is that all inclusive, or just for the laying of the agg. and site prep and road base are extra on top of that. You really wont know until you have a written quote, even this will just be guess work until you get a quote once the house is being built and near completion( good idea to get this done around 1 month from hand over so you can have your chosen tradie ready to go when you get your new house). As for the bear feet thing... well I guess that depends how tough your feet are, but I would say exposed agg. is good for the driveway but something soother would be better for any paths or outdoor areas. Will be good to see your blog once its up and dont forget to post it in the Building a new house thread. Cheers for now Cozmo _________________ http://fromevetoeternity.blogspot.com/ Last year I had a gas leak at my house. 3 days later, I have about 1 sqm of my exposed aggregate paving broken up.
