Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Feb 22, 2009 2:33 pm Hi there
i have a highset post war home in BNE and one of the supporting concrete posts/pillars (which is painted by the way) looks like it may have an issue in that the surface is not smooth - looks like it is eating away although the paint on top is not peeling or removed. so instead of a smooth surface pillar it has an area that is 'eaten' away only by say 1cm on one or 2 sides(pillar is approx 30cm X30cm). i can't remember if it has always been this way (have had the house fo 5 years). But need some advice in case it needs some work on it. If i did get someone to have a look at it who would be the best tradie to call - builder or concreter? below is a photo of the pillar in question - area i am talking about is just below the halfway mark thanks in advance for your advice Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering. Builder is quoting 2500$ laying cost for upto 10msq. The 2 pillars come to be 16msq. So laying costs are 5000$… 0 7554 get them to replace the chipped tiles. It will stick out like a sore thumb overwise. Also tiler will be siliconing the miters rather than grouting. Grouted miters crack… 1 4045 Hi, have purchased a house with 2 single garage doors.
