Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Feb 20, 2009 6:01 pm I'm trying to work out how much concrete I would roughly need for my driveway to try to get some quotes for the work.
The cross over is ~4m wide and the entrance to the garage is 4.8m. The garage isn't directly inline, the start of the garage door is ~2.2 from the boundary and the driveway/cutover is 1.6m from the boundary and the garage is about 5.6m from the cutover. as it isn't a square, how do I work out the sq m of this? I also want to add in some concreting for the portico, its 2160x1290 so im assuming that makes it 2.86 sq m? This is also right next to the garage entrance, so would only be a smidge extra to the driveway. 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' Count how many graph paper squares represent a square metre. Next, count how many graph paper squares in your design. Finally, divide this number by the number of squares representing a square metre. (From step 2 above) This will not be absoutely accurate but pretty close. It's (very roughly) 8 squares and the edge of each sq is 1cm which for my scale equals 2 m's so does that make it 16x16 = 256sqm?? If your garage is about 4M wide and the drive is about 6M long, that would be about 24 Sq metres. If your scale is 2M per each 1CM square, then your drawing is about the size of a postage stamp! LOL If you can't work it out, let me know and I'll post an example pic. Re: Size of area to concrete? 7Feb 21, 2009 7:26 pm Merlin I think you mean 26.5 metres? LOL ummm that's the scale im using as it was easier on the size paper I have. I will scan it on Monday and upload it 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' How much does concreting cost? And then im assuming it costs more for stenciling and that fancy stuff? 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' I will put the other night down to a blonde moment hehe Thanks Merlin Can anyone recommend any websites to look at options or anyone in the North of Melb recommend a concreter?
