Can someone educate me on how to calculate a concrete slab of 75mm thick to MPa(Mega Pascals)
Is there a general formula for conversion or a conversion table i can follow?

Is there a general formula for conversion or a conversion table i can follow? Re: Convert to MPa 2Feb 18, 2009 2:19 pm mpa is the strength of the raw concrete, you dont not increase the compressive strength of concrete in terms of mpa by making it thicker.
Mpa is the strength of the concrete mix and not the thickness of the finish product. if you pourt two slabs of concrete on 75mm and the other 150mm using the same mix both are still the same mpa rating. Re: Convert to MPa 3Feb 18, 2009 2:26 pm Ok. I understand.
However, If I'm building a concrete path from my laundry to my clothes line, how do I calculate the concrete strength required in MPa? Re: Convert to MPa 4Feb 18, 2009 2:41 pm usually you require 20mpa and 75mm for pavement (ie no cars) with SL52 mesh.
However if you are adding color to the mix it is best o go to 25mpa to compensate for the reduced strength. If you are doing the concrete on your own house it is very cheap usually to for from 75mm to 100mm, if the area is small and may prevent the extent of cracking. Re: Convert to MPa 6Feb 18, 2009 2:43 pm it is non vehicular traffic so 20 mpa is fine min 80mm thick with min, rl52 reinforcement
the mix you need to ask for is called 20 / 14 / 80 max 1.2 - 1,5 cntr to cntr control joints Da Vinci Outdoor Living Architectural landscaping http://www.davincioutdoor.com Re: Convert to MPa 7Feb 18, 2009 2:54 pm Folks, I really appreciate the info good work!
But where did you get this info from? Is there a website that contains concrete strength requirements for certain concrete constructions? Reason I ask is 1) What is the MPa for a drive way (Vehicular traffic) 2) What is the MPa for a concrete slab for a Lowset house? consider putting in wall WC instead of robe in the same bedroom, then it might be doable to hook up to the existing piping. 4 6602 |
