Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jan 29, 2009 1:43 pm I have about 220m2 of concrete that includes a driveway surrounding my 84m2 concrete brick home. The concrete is both new and old, rough in areas with dark rocks on the surface and various shades of gray throughout. I am hoping to seal it or paint it to improve the look. Am considering Fauxtex Decorative Concrete Sealer or White Knight Paving Paint in dark gray or black. Does anyone have reasons for one or the other? Not an expensive home so not willing to spend a fortune but want something that improves the look and endures the sun, weather and car traffic. Any clues to how long they last before needing a new coat? I can't afford the drama or cost of relaying all the concrete. Many thanks. paint will flake , sealer will not if applied correctly i would reccomend to use a penatrative solvent based sealer, acid clean conc. first then apply a thinned out coat as per manufacturers instructions the a heavy coat faux sealer is ok but is normally 2 part and is a pain to mix look at slatecrete sealers they are single part Da Vinci Outdoor Living Architectural landscaping http://www.davincioutdoor.com Pavng Paint or Sealer 3Feb 01, 2009 11:35 am Many thanks DaVinci. Cheers, David Re: Sealer or Paving paint 5Feb 03, 2009 5:02 pm i too would recommended sealer. We have done paving paint
in the past and adhereing all guidelines. where the paint has much more exposure to the elements once it gets a small hole or bubble and moisture gets in, it peels like a skin. Pictures of before and after 6Feb 03, 2009 6:08 pm Wilco but it may be a while. Other projects to come first. Hopefully by end of March.
Have looked at this reply. Projects slowed with too much rain and child care needs. I'd say a completion by the end of May if the rain quits. Re: Sealer or Paving paint 7Apr 24, 2009 9:29 am I bought a 5 ltr can of Bondcrete a while back and never used it, as we are now building a new house I wondered would there be a benefit to paint this on the garage floor of the new house or would that be futile? Thanks Vid I had 28m2 of engineered pavers laid six months back and it was difficult to find someone not taking the pi$$. Internet suggested it should be $85-100/m2 to lay them.… 3 12408 As most others have posted above the install isn't compliant.
