Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jan 10, 2009 7:41 pm We have just recieved one quote for a Stamped 240M2 area of Driveway and Paths that came in at $28'000.....seems a little steep to me. I anticipated $70 - $90 per m2, maybe on the lower side for a larger jobs.
Any thoughts. Ohh and if anyone is able to recommend a good and reasonable Concreter on the Brisbane North side I'd be grateful. Thanks in advance. Re: Concrete Driveway Cost Expectations 2Jan 10, 2009 7:48 pm that does seem a lot! We just had 24 square metres of coloured right through concrete done (a tenth of your area) for $1800 (a lot less than a tenth of your price!)
Not sure if stamped is different though. Can you get another quote(s)? Re: Concrete Driveway Cost Expectations 5Jan 19, 2009 8:05 pm I am also looking for someone in Brisbane to quote for my driveway, can anyone recomend someone? Re: Concrete Driveway Cost Expectations 8Jan 20, 2009 5:04 pm We are in Melb but to give you an idea of our cost it was $60-$70 sqm and I think the price was the same for stencil or stamped. Ours was also done with colour through concrete as we didn't want the two-tone look with the stencil - again price was the same. We had approx 70-74sqm and also had a excavation charge added on. Cost to seal it is $300. Happy at Home Re: Concrete Driveway Cost Expectations 11Jan 20, 2009 8:41 pm House to be, thats a pretty good price for your concrete, I am in Melb also and just got quoted approx $90sqm for plain colored concrete with a stencil edge. Where is your guy located? Would be interested in his number to see if he comes out our way (warrandyte). Have to happy about getting a pool especially on a day like today! Yeah I thought the cost per sqm was really good and I knew he had already done another H1 members house which looked great in exposed agg. (Kek's). Pool is great, would be better if it was in the ground! Here are some pics of our driveway and path as I've had quite a few PM's about it. We opted to have a path in front of the study and around to the meter box and out to the side fence (for the wheelie bins) and around the other side of the garage. Colour is Charcoal and as I said previously it was "colour through" Stencil pattern is called Ashlar Slate. Contact details for concreter is Mark 0418 341 466. Hope this helps. Excuse my letterbox numbers, that's one thing I haven't gotten around to doing Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Happy at Home Re: Concrete Driveway Cost Expectations 13Jan 20, 2009 10:40 pm H2B offtopic sorry but what colour is your garage?! It looks great. Re: Concrete Driveway Cost Expectations 15Jan 21, 2009 9:09 am Zerosignal H2B offtopic sorry but what colour is your garage?! It looks great. Hi Zerosignal, our garage door is Woodland Grey (along with our windows, gutters, fascia and downpipes ) in B&D Contemporary Style. I love it. Portico render is also Woodland Grey and render around the study is Dune. Roof tiles are Charcoal as is the letterbox but that is a different Charcoal to the roof but I love it. I like dark houses....... brittany I thought I was just going to have a coloured concrete driveway.... until I saw your stenciled one. Ahh - will the budget stretch some more.... ooooh, try and make it stretch Brittany The stencil is nice and going with colour through keeps it a bit more low key (if that makes sense). We are really happy with the end result, just waiting on it to be sealed now. Happy at Home Re: Concrete Driveway Cost Expectations 16Jan 21, 2009 7:29 pm H2B, Thanks for posting the photos, your house looks great and the concrete job looks fantastic. I rang your concrete guy today but he doesn't come out my way, I'm spewing as yours is such a great job for a great price as well. Thanks for passing on the details though, appreciate it.
When is your pool going in? Hopefully before all this hot weather finishes, would be great to get a bit of use out of it this summer. We are waiting to see how the budget goes and whats leftover (if anything) at the end but would love to get a pool as well. What company are you using? Oh and love the letter box, whats wrong with the numbers, they look ok to me? Pool will be soon, although with all the wind we had today probably a good thing it doesn't have water in it. We bought our pool as a kit from Summerset Pools and using one of their installers to put it in. Alot cheaper doing it this way that as a package. I love our letterbox, it's different and it suits the house. The letters are cut from A4 paper and have been stuck on with blu tac Still looking for some nice numbers Letterbox retails for $440 in Bunnings, I went direct to distributor and got it for $100 - bargain Happy at Home Re: Concrete Driveway Cost Expectations 18Jan 22, 2009 8:17 pm Hi H2B - that woodland grey on garage door is absolutely fantastic
You have a very good looking home and thanks for the pics Jonathan Building the Caprice33 by Provincial Homes. Now it's time for the landscaping http://jacksonsbuild.blogspot.com Re: Concrete Driveway Cost Expectations 19Jan 22, 2009 8:24 pm Thanks Jonathan I absolutely love our exterior, it's exactly what I/we wanted. Glad you like it Happy at Home To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9830 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10926 |
