Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Dec 08, 2008 12:40 am I've been asked to be on site tomorrow at 12.30pm to meet with the concrete guys doing our slab. Has anyone else had to do this? (The site was excavated and leveled 2 weeks ago). Hopefully that means we get a frame before Christmas! Bring it on.
Judie Re: Meeting concrete guys? 5Dec 08, 2008 12:43 pm OK, so they just wanted me to look at where they're putting the piers compared to the plan. Looks good to me. The waffle pod will go in tomorrow followed by slab on Wednesday. Progress!
I also got some photos, which I will upload later. One thing I didn't realise is how big the ground floor is. Not much space either side or at the back where it is next to the pool. Don't know where the cricket pitch is going to go now. Judie Re: Meeting concrete guys? 6Dec 08, 2008 12:54 pm we did with our builders as piers are one of the provisional costs. We are there just to confirm how much piers etc used. To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9863 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10947 |
