Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Oct 31, 2008 2:59 pm Hi, we have recently had coloured concrete put down in our entertaining area -we had a few issues with water pooling that has since been fixed but we still have a hairline crack just under 1meter coming from one corner into the middle area. We have spoken to the concretor who has said that cracks are normal (and im sure over time they are) but its only been 6 months and i wonder if we should be worried about this? Any ideas? the concreter takes steps to minimise and control the cracking thru proper base prep , steel size , conc. thickness , control joint placment, expansion joints if needed and weather. if he covered all of his bases then the crack is not his fault or anyons fault. cracks can be repaired but instead of seeing a hairline crack you would see a 10 odd mm thick chase joint filled with something like non expansive grout etc Da Vinci Outdoor Living Architectural landscaping http://www.davincioutdoor.com Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain.
