Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Nov 22, 2021 6:55 pm Hi everyone, I’m planning some hardscaping in an area of my backyard which has drainage problems. I am going to install a drainage system and want to pave a courtyard over that area. The tricky part I need some help with is this area is just off a patio with a 130mm step down to a concrete path (800mm wide) which follows the wall creating an L shape. I know I need to dig out the centre of the L, and prepare that with road base compacted to build a paving base up, what I would like to do is have the grade one continuous slope across the 4m away from the patio to the garden/drain on the edge. How am I best to prepare the area as I would need to prepare the base on a heavy clay soil, and can I continue the road base over the top of the concrete path around the house, so there isn’t a step down to the paved area? Pic shows edge of courtyard, concrete wrap around pathway and variance of patio height to ground height. Thanks! The pipe is meant to be covered in loose soil or sand, the pipe has holes in it that leaks out a termicide… 10 5859 Much a do about nothing. You can see the fall heading to the actual drains. Stormwater ingress will be minimal and it's far better to have the top sitting flush rather… 12 6350 Just get as close as you can without hitting the posts. Once you are close to the edge of the path the chance of cracking is minimised. 7 9255 |
