Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jan 31, 2021 10:37 am Hi Folks, Need some advice. I am looking to have a fibreglass pool in my backyard, however, I do have powerlines on the street in front of house. The pool company's recommendation is that to have the crane settled in driveway to pick up the pool and place it at the back, as it is fairly 'normal', however, the crane company seem to provide no advice/recommendation and say that it is 'upto you' how you want this to be done. They provide only little assurance that it will be ok to have crane in driveway, as they have mentioned that "it would appear to be ok..." My alternate option is to have a larger crane, tiger tails on powerlines, council approval, traffic control and all that, which means a lot more time and $$. Has anyone experienced this/been through this before? will appreciate any replies. It would probably be cheaper to replace some sections of your driveway in the event that they do crack from the crane than go down that road. Re: Crane in driveway 3Feb 25, 2021 6:58 pm What a situation...omg as you explained your options, there is a cognitive dissonance followed by real issues...what should I say, choosing between money or other serious problems, I would choose a gym membership that has a pool do not get me wrong, I am just thinking about all the cons and pros. Maybe if you manage to find another company, that has many specialists, also lawyers etc? We worked with fleetupmarketplace.com and they provided solutions for each problem we discovered before constructing. So firstly think how necessary is the pool for you and the find a reliable company that will come with answers to your questions. Re: Crane in driveway 4May 03, 2021 1:26 pm just watch out for the legs the crane rests its weight on.. they can crack your driveway. Im a concreter, I just repaired a broken driveway from this last week. driveways are weaker if you put the weight close to the edge,, Driveways and Exposed Aggregate Specialists, Melbourne's Eastern and Northern Suburbs http://www.theconcretefirm.com.au http://www.exposedaggregate.net.au To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9858 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10939 |
