Patchy concrete

Hi All,
We have concreted at different stages and now we have a whole lot of patchy concrete as opposed to the whole pieces typically seen in driveways.
I’d like to create a more uniform look and have considered painting the concrete, epoxy coating or crazy paving as a way to make it look more standard. I’ve read that the painting of concrete is only short lived and given the costs associated it seems like a lot for little long term value. We’ve been quoted 20k to rip it up and start again which is out of range for us. Does anyone have any ideas?
