Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Dec 16, 2020 4:01 pm Hi, I'm not sure whether this is the correct forum for my question. Our townhouse is built on a slightly sloping block. At the back of the house is a timber deck on posts, which makes up the entire backyard. The void underneath (in red) is between 20 and 100cm high. The deck needs repair/replacement at some stage soon. Instead of a new timber deck which needs lots of maintenance (and we don't like timber decks in general) we are thinking of backfilling that void and having the courtyard paved (or having a concrete slab poured and tiled with bluestone). I'd imagine this would need careful planing of a drainage system and likely a building permit. Is this something a landscaper would do or do we need a builder? Where do we Strat the process? Many thanks in advance! I am not sure how to go about getting it repaired… 0 10414 Just be careful with building stability during construction, that is when the structure may be weakened, refer to your engineering drawings for stability methodology. 1 7231 Can anyone recommend a good/affordable retaining wall and fence builder that I can get a quote from located in Sydney? 8 45836 |
