Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Nov 18, 2020 9:27 am Existing standard 150mm profile kerb and guttering ends on the upside of my property boundary and stormwater runoff from the nearby junction road flows into my small street where there is no kerb and gutter, and onto my property. Local council put in a bitumen hump a few years ago as a substitute for kerb and gutter that has failed, eroding the verge. Water flows down my earth & part gravel driveway past the front door, at times up to 150mm deep. Council are willing to redo the bitumen hump but not install proper kerb and gutter. I am in the process of applying to install kerb and gutter at my own expense. Question is: council will only approve roll top gutter profile which will abutt the existing 150mm kerb and gutter that carries water from the road and down into my smaller street. On the road the nearest drainage pit is 140 m away on the upside therefore the volume and velocity of water is considerable. Will roll top have the capacity to contain that amount of water? Council will not install a drainage pit in my street, although legally they are responsible for managing run off from roads etc. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ No, I even have sections of narrowness where the tiles won't slide up any further.
