Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Jan 31, 2011 8:03 pm Hi guys,im gonna be building my first home in a few months and i have just over 2 mtrs next to the garage so i can drive a car through up beside the house. The driveway stops at the front of the garage but i would like to extend it down the side of the garage to the back of the house. My question is,how should i go about concreting it? 1)At slab stage, get the concretor to bring the slab right to the fence. 2)when driveway going in get them to extend it out the back or... 3)Organise it later after handover. Thanks Brenton. Re: extending slab? 9Feb 01, 2011 10:03 pm Yep a bad idea, garage, driveway and paths are nearly always the very last stage. Re: extending slab? 10Feb 02, 2011 1:27 pm Yeah my builder quoted for them but we said we'd get our own. He said it wouldn't be until the end of the build and if we changed our minds it would be the same cost. I think he said it would be around 1 or 2 week before handover, when they don't need to get much through/around the yard and they're just finishing off things inside and out, but you can walk down the non driveway side of our block after the house will be built too.
