Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Sep 30, 2008 2:07 pm Does anyone have one of those mirrors that go in the shower enclosure so you can see yourself when cleansing or shaving your face in the shower? And they don’t fog up? I want to get one, but am not sure where to get them from, and also how to secure them to the tile in the shower so you can be sure they don’t fall down from the humidity, etc.
Anyone knowledgeable in this area? How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: In-shower mirrors… 2Sep 30, 2008 4:42 pm Can't help you here, Grace - hey I don't want to see myself whilst cleansing or shaveing my face!!
Especially not that close up!! Catching a glimpse of my nude self on the vanity mirror on the opposite wall is bad enough!! Re: In-shower mirrors… 3Sep 30, 2008 5:02 pm Heheheh! I hear ya! For me it'd be mainly to see where I've specifically gotta wash off a cleanser or clay mask. I can never quite get all of it and so want a mirror. (just to clarify, I don't shave my face. That was referring to any males around here. lol) How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Well, today I "splashed out" and spent $50 to get a strong suction mirror for in my shower (from The Shaver Shop). And well, I'm yet to actually try sticking/suctioning it to a tile, but I am NOT confident in its ability to actually stay put for longer than 5 seconds based on another smaller suction device I purchased today. I bought a little suction razor holder from Freedom, and tried it in the shower. I moistened the suck bit, and then pressed it hard/flat to the tile (which was clean and smooth, just a normal tile), and then watched (I did this repeatedly) as the water underneath the suction bit seemed to push its way outward in a circular motion until it popped out the sides of the suction thing and then the suction fell straight off the wall. It happened 7 separate times, all within about 5 seconds. No amount of pressing, trying it without moistening it, trying it on a damp wall, a dry wall, in different areas, even sticking it to a bench top where gravity wasn't working against it, the same exact thinmg happened each time!!!! I'm going to return it for a refund, and it was only $6 or $7 so it's ok, but I'm concerned that the $50 mirror, which is a LOT heavier and much more important to me, will do exactly the same thing. What's going on, anybody??! How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: In-shower mirrors… 10Oct 04, 2008 1:57 pm I saw this one quite by accident :

I just tried out the Shaver Shop shower mirror and it DOES NOT WORK!!! The exact same thing happens as with the little razer holder from Freedom. I moisten the suction cups, press them firmly to the (dry) tile, and then release after a short while. But then as soon as I release, the moisture under the cups pushes its way outward (or air inside forces it outward, rather) and the cups "dry out" and fall straight off. As they do, the cups go from relatively flat against the tile to their "resting" position of more cup like in shape. And in fact, 2 of them never even get a proper seal anyway. The outer sides of each round suction cup are sort of bent upwards so even when pressed down against a surface, they don't properly touch/seal to the surface so they can't possibly obtain a strong suction. How can this be? They sell about 6 different varieties of this type of thing in the Shaver Shop alone, and I don't consider $50 that cheap for a suction mirror for the shower, you know? Do they just not work for me? Somehow I find that hard to believe. I tried them dry, moist, wet, on tile, paint, bench top, shower screen, and it does the same thing each time no matter what! It won't even stick for more than about 5-10 seconds before it falls off. THIS SUCKS! (pun intended) How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: In-shower mirrors… 18Oct 05, 2008 1:14 am grace,
What about one of these: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=GH1063&CATID=&keywords=mirror&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID= I personally have had one of these for about 7 years and it has fallen off the wall once and that was my fault! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The wall mount is a 2 way suction ... thats the key! Before you attach it to the wall you need to lift the hook up to 90 degrees and then press it against the wall and click the hook down. The picture below might help. The little lever on the side is the vacuum part. Just using the suction is not enough but when you click the lever over it forms a vaccuum seal that forms a permanent hold. Same for the above mirror.
