Our builder has said that by law they are only required to have a waste in the shower area, I asked about the potential flooding if the basin(s) or bath overflows and they said it’s not required and would charge me extra for this? Depends on which state you’re in as to what the norm is. I would put one in no matter what. Kind of like insurance.
