Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Dec 16, 2019 8:53 pm We are about to have our tiling done by our builder, and noticed in a recent job of theirs that in each doorway of a wet area they have put a metal strip through the tiles. Our site supervisor said it is required for waterproofing but I can’t find any info online to suggest it is required (we are in Vic if that makes a difference). Can anyone advise if this is the case? It’s not the end of the world, but I would prefer it not to have a break in the tiling if it is not needed. You could always ask for a variation to the contract and pay for change of detail if builder agrees.
