Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 May 11, 2014 6:26 pm Hi All, Not sure where to post this, we are doing a knock down and am trying figure out where to put the clothes line. It currently has pride of place in the middle of our backyard which we are trying to avoid. I was wanting to know what types of clothes lines everyone has, where you have it & if you are happy with it (have heard that the wall ones dry unevenly & can sun stain the side that faces out) & display homes never worry about anything as unpractical as drying your clothes! We currently have a hills hoist which I really like but not sure if it will fit in the space I have allocated which is fence to house 4m, Cheers Lou Re: Clothes Line 2May 11, 2014 6:33 pm We currently have a wall line on the side of the house which faces north. If I leave clothes out for too long on a hot day they can get sun bleached. But that would happen at my previous house with a rotary line. Another house I lived in had a wall clothesline that faced south. I loved it as clothes were never sun bleached and we had a lovely breeze down the side of the house that helped dry the clothes. In our new build I've hung two pull out clotheslines in the laundry which will provide us with plenty of line space and I d tbhave to worry about the birds using my clothes as their loo Custom downslope build Build thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=61873 Blog http://www.buildingroyalmanor.blogspot.com.au Re: Clothes Line 3May 12, 2014 9:15 am we have a hills hoist, and will be getting a daytek in the new place. This is because we have one young child with another on the way- and lots of washing to do. Perhaps if space is a limitation you could mount one of the wall-mount styles to the fence so it had more even sun than against the house? Re: Clothes Line 4May 12, 2014 11:40 am Have a look at this thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14545 I personally prefer a Daytek as they are Australian made (as opposed to Hills, which are not), but wall mounted versus free standing is really a matter of personal choice. Re: Clothes Line 5May 14, 2014 2:10 pm Daytek is good .. we have the twin fold down clothesline. very flexi..and can hung a lot of clothes. sometimes i just hung our clothes in the laundry area if there's no sun outside.. as long as the dehumidifier is running, our clothes dry so fast. i don't like rotary clothesline as they consume a lot of space. Re: Clothes Line 6May 19, 2014 9:28 pm Don't forget Quality Clothesline. They can install and you can choose from custom colours.
