Hi all,
This is my first post on this kind of forum - I'm the definition of newbie when it comes to this sort of thing.
Just got a quick question and would be so grateful if anyone was able to help me out.
My partner just bought an IKEA mirror with built in lighting. I assumed there might be some kind of power cord coming out of it or an input for a generic kettle cord or something... but by the looks of it, it's designed to be connected to the house main electrical wires through a wall. We're in a rental and would rather not do that, but I had the idea that it might be possible to strip a regular extension cord and plug that in instead. Problem is, the mirror only takes two wires and an extension cord of course has three, including the ground wire. If I just plugged in two and left the earth wire to hang, would that be a serious no-no?
Can't find specific information on this on the internet.
Aside from that, are there any other DIY options before I return the mirror?
Thanks,
Michael
