We paid for a fully tiled bathroom, and had planned to have grey hexagon tiles on the floor and white tiled herringbone walls (see attached images below for what we want)
However, for some reason the tiler is trying to convince to have a Hexagon skirting of about 200mm around the 3 walls before we lay the herringbone above. (so the flooring goes a bit up the wall.)
His explanation was it will look better, because he wont have to cut into the tiles? If he is doing Herringbone surely no matter what?
My husband and I are totally confused by this and after 1 hour of trying to understand what he is saying gave up and said we will sleep on it. I cannot find a single picture on the internet of what he wants to do, which rings alarm bells for me.
Maybe he is trying to make his life easier but neither my husband or I can work out how having the flooring go up the wall 200mm is going to make anything easier?
