Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Oct 17, 2010 5:01 pm We are adding an extension, so can make the ensuite as big as we want. I keep going back and forth on whather to get a corner spa, rectangular spa or just a bath. The corner spa's seem to take a lot of water, but they are obviously begger so more comfortable? What do you think? We will be here for at least another 6-8 years and would only use a spa or bath occassionally, but want to have one to add to the value of the home. Cost probably doesn't matter too much at this stage as we can cut back on other parts of the reno/extension if need be. Thanks Re: Corner Spa/Rectangle Spa or Bath? 3Oct 17, 2010 5:46 pm You do have to consider how much use you'll get out of it and whether it will justify the extra cost. As for adding value to a house.... It's probably on the "nice to have" list, but I doubt it would be a make-or-break thing for most people. In fact, a large spa instead of a standard bath might put buyers with young families off. My in-laws built a new house with a corner spa in the bathroom and it was a PITA when we went to visit, because once our babies were past the size where I could bathe them in the laundry sink, it was impossible to give them a bath at all. Try kneeling and leaning over the side of one of those things to bathe a child... Ouch! Of course, if you have another bath in the house as well, that wouldn't be an issue. Re: Corner Spa/Rectangle Spa or Bath? 4Oct 17, 2010 6:55 pm Spa baths are not everyone's cup of tea. I just love them, and already bough corner 1500*1500 for my renovation. viewtopic.php?f=21&t=37998 viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22287 viewtopic.php?f=21&t=20756 Re: Corner Spa/Rectangle Spa or Bath? 5Oct 26, 2010 11:18 am I dislike corner spas. They take ages to fill and are wasteful if only one person wants a bath, don't have enough jets to make it worthwhile unless you pay serious $, and they're a PITA to clean because you can't easily reach all the areas without awkward stretching or climbing into the bath itself. And unless the installation and the actual bath is top notch I think they look cheap and tacky and "look at me I've got a corner spa." Give me a classy 'regular' oval/rectangle spa bath any day. Re: Corner Spa/Rectangle Spa or Bath? 6Oct 26, 2010 11:29 am I wish now that i had got a rectangular spa instead of a corner spa. Stupidly i didn't even look to see that they existed. If i had my time again i would def get a rectangular spa. I think ive used it twice in the 3 months ive been in the house. Re: Corner Spa/Rectangle Spa or Bath? 7Oct 26, 2010 2:49 pm Sorry but another vote for no corner spa. I've never liked the look of them. I honestly don't think adding a rectangular spa rather than nice bath will add any more value for re-sale. However, as you are going to live there it's worth doing if you'll use it. 4 15049 Dear all, Requesting your help in relation to a CDC code. We are building a new home in NSW on a corner lot (500m2, 15m wide) following Greenfield CDC code.
