Wall mounted should be easier to clean (less dripping down the tap stem) but are they more difficult to service (replace washers etc) Appreciate all advice. The bigger issue for me is maintenance of both the taps and plumbing, and given that bench mounted taps leave the plumbing accessible, this would be easier. That said, good quality taps should last ten years. So with wall mounted taps you would only need to open the wall every ten years or so. But no different than the shower/bath tap really. Just more of personal preference I think. We got wall mounted for ensuite in the end. There is constantly a pool of water on the bench below them because you turn them off with wet hands (doesn't help if you have little kids too). I have a face washer sitting there permanently so that the water doesn't pool over onto the floor. Never again.....
