I will check out your video and give it some more thought. We are in the very early planning stages and in no rush. I like to do my research and planning first and get it right and will project manage myself and hopefully do some of the hard yards to keep some of the cost down. We don't need to move anything major in any of the two bathrooms. One bathroom is a minor reno. The other a bit more major with new bath, vanity, toilet and shower screens. May just need to move the bath drain. Our budget is about $25K max for the two bathrooms. Again hoping to project mange myself and shop myself and get good prices on bath, vanity, toilet and tiles etc... Great way to do it mate! Save yourself at least 30% on the overall cost by project managing it yourself, and sounds like you should be ok with that budget. Your 💯 right by planning it out before you jump into it, most the work in any bathroom renovation takes place in the Research, Planning and Pre-Construction stages. If I can help in anyway give me a shout (bathroom renovation advice is my wheelhouse). Pretty sure you can put these in a corner. We are getting the Caroma Aura 1800 but pretty sure it comes in a 1600: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our 37sq Custom Hamptons Inspired Home: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86931 Re: freestanding bath in corner of bathroom? 6May 23, 2017 10:06 pm ![]() Hi guys, We are just embarking on renos to our main and ensuite bathrooms and are in the research and planning stages. We currently have a big corner spa in our ensuite but want to replace it with a freestanding bath. We are limited by space due to only having about 1600mm between the shower and wall. Is it OK to have a feestanding bath against the wall in the corner? There would be room to clean around each end but not the length against the wall. If it's rectangular freestanding then it could be pushed up against both walls in the corner. If so can a beading waterproof the two edges to stop water going over the sides? Very early stages of planning and prefer a feestanding to built in bath but limited by space, hence my questions. Thanks Bryan We will be doing a freestanding bath in the corner of our master ensuite similar to this pic Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ - View my blog at www.waldorfgrangebuild.wordpress.com I would also extend the pantry into that space, so the powder room is an L shape. Can you show a bit more of what the pantry area looks like? I had similar on my design… 2 14780 Slab needed a rebate. Better planning during design stage. Nothing can be done now without spending big $$$. 2 17514 ![]() You need to reference the manufactures installation guide, your supplier may have strengthened the base where it is not required to sit on a bed. 1 9164 ![]() |
