Re: help pluming regulations in regards to shower height 3Aug 20, 2008 5:03 pm JoBen,
My brother is 6 foot 6 and he got his moved up higher. Not sure how high. I'll try to get on to him but it might take a while for him to answer his phone. He is building with S**onds. I'll get back to you as soon as I get an answer from him. Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: help pluming regulations in regards to shower height 4Aug 20, 2008 7:31 pm My partner is 6'4" -- we switched our fixed shower head with a hand-held one that has a wall-mounted rail. The rail will be mounted so that the top is about 2m above the ground.
This is also with Simonds. Re: help pluming regulations in regards to shower height 5Aug 21, 2008 9:30 am You can put it higher, but it means that they may have to waterproof higher and therefor tile higher. They have to waterproof to the height of the shower head, so they are probably not wanting to do the extra work.
Also, make sure you specify that the BOTTOM of the shower head is to be at the height you require, as the Mizu head drops down lower than where the outlet come out of the wall. I'm a bathroom designer, and I usually put these sorts of heads at 2m for "average height" people, but 2.1 - 2.2 for taller people. Hope this helps! Re: help pluming regulations in regards to shower height 6Aug 22, 2008 1:03 pm Our standard height is 1950, I should have got it lowered a bit Re: help pluming regulations in regards to shower height 7Aug 26, 2008 5:15 pm We have built twice ( going for the third time) my DH is 6ft 5" and we have had the shower set at 1900 in first house and 2000 in the second house. Tip: If you are going to do this, then make sure that you get tiles to the roof.
We didn't do this in the first house and because the top of his head was higher than the shower screens (therefore tiled area) when he washed his hair sometimes we got shampoo/etc on the wall above the tiled area in the shower. We had awful stains/marks on the wall above the shower. I hope that this makes sense! So in house 2, we got higher ceilings and we got tiles to the roof, much easier to clean!! and we have just signed with PD to build an Illoura and that is a non negotiable in the sales quote which we made very clear to the sales person. Showers must be minimum of 2M. What's the point of building a house and not having it fit? You need to reference the manufactures installation guide, your supplier may have strengthened the base where it is not required to sit on a bed. 1 1825 I'll look into different shower heads and ask the plumber about some engineering and see what he says.
