Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Nov 30, 2006 11:03 am Good question for you Michelle, and of course anyone with simlar knowlege
I'm going to be tiling the bathroom walls. outside the shower, not quite to the ceiling, with white ceramics. The tile I had picked out is a 20cm x 10cm tile. Now I'm wondering if this is going to be too small and make it look cluttered. I originally had a 30cm x 15 cm tile in mind but thought it might have been too big. It's a 3 metre by 2 metre bathroom and I will be tiling both of the 3 metre walls. Any thoughts greatly appreciated. How about a 600 x 300, yummy…… The good things about the size of these tiles are, 1) Less grouting 2) Less to lay 3) Much neater overall appearance 4) Less of the criss cross effect you get with smaller tiles and all their grout. 5) But most of all….. Very sophisticated!!! (Like me!) Note the tidiness of the look, less joins and grout! LESS CLEANING! The 600 x 300 are a rectangle where these tiles are square, for a small size bathroom I would do the rectangles, less wastage on tiles. Nice bathroom alto, did you do the tiling yourself? Both those ideas are great..I like the idea of less grouting vey much I HATE grouting. I am only responsible for choosing the tiles - the builder has done the rest. I will post more pics once we're in and the place is clean. Found one that's perfect. It's 400 by 250, white, with a very fine texture, and not really glossy, in fact almost matt. Not quite the size you suggested Michelle, but as soon as I saw it I knew it was right. I was a bit worried about there being a problem in cleaning them so I brought a sample home, rubbed some dirt into it and gave it a wipe. Voila!! the texture isn't enough to hold dirt...came up just fine. Glade you found something! Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Possibly both depending on the sizing. Idea of working from the centre is that you dont have a 20mm thin tile at one end and a 400mm at the other end. A quick search on… 3 8413 Dear Members I have to decide the Facade column size.
