Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Mar 27, 2017 5:18 pm Hi. We are building a new home and the design has changed along the way. Now we are looking at putting the laundry and a toilet next to the kitchen. I remember hearing that you need 2 doors between a toilet and a kitchen. Is this still true? Are you allowed a toilet next to a kitchen? Thanks Re: Toilet next to kitchen allowed? 2Mar 28, 2017 1:37 pm Well its not legal, but if you're really keen on making some curry, whilst at the same time dumping last nights curry, dont limit to your imagination, as its been done before. If you adopt this design, you'll be able to get a lot done whilst 'on the job'. You'll pardon me though, if I decline any dinner party invitations that you may hand out. I believe that you'll need to make sure that you have a separate wash sink near the toilet (not the kitchen sink), and there are also ventilation requirements that must be met. Even above those requirements, you should take into consideration the possible need for mechanical ventilation to ensure that air doesn't flow from the toilet into the kitchen (e.g. through an open window), the privacy (visual and noise) problems that can arise from such layouts, and that many people will find the layout distasteful (which might impact your resale value). Re: Toilet next to kitchen allowed? 4Apr 04, 2017 11:04 pm I wouldnt buy a house that only had 1 door between kitchen and toilet, unless the toilet was a long way from the kitchen. It literally would be a show stopper for me, unless the house I was buying with the loo close and 1 door from kitcjen was really small or I was planning big reno and solving that problem. i imagine you also have another contract with an architect? and yeah, whatever other's said about special conditions and appendices 16 15822 Hi all I am looking to run a water line under my concrete footpath which is directly next to my home, was seeing if this is possible without cutting the entire section… 0 20163 Did you know that you can get rugs made from carpet?
