Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Aug 15, 2008 8:27 am Hey guys
I was just going over my tile selection sheet and on the part that says trims - it appears I have selected Bone trims. Now I actually can't remember selecting anything on the day but it was a full on day so maybe I did. My floor tiles are a bone sort of colour, but my bath hob and shower walls are white gloss tiles, so I'm wondering why I didn't get white trims..... Does anyone know where the trims actually go? Particularly in the Cremorne...If they go around the bottom of the shower then I guess the bone will blend in with the tile. I have a bone/stone coloured feature tile around the top of the bath hob too - so if the trims go there - that is probably why I chose it, but if it doesn't then I think I better try and get it changed to white or it might look quite odd Any help would be great My karma ran over your dogma Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 2Aug 15, 2008 8:35 am Bel, the trims go where the tiles meet at angles. Does that make sense???
Mine are silver - here is a pic, you can see it on the edge of the bath and step Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Paula Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 3Aug 15, 2008 8:37 am Thanks for that Paula - that makes sense now....
The one on the shower floor should be ok in that case, but I'm worried about the bath one..we have a feature tile going around the top of the bath hob, just under where your silver trim is, so it will look fine on one part of the bath, but the other side is going to line up with white tiles - this may not look so good. They did have the option of the silver trims - it was an upgrade, but perhaps it would look better this way... My karma ran over your dogma Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 5Aug 15, 2008 8:42 am My head hurts!!
I just looked on P and B's blog and you can't even see their trim around their bath hob, they have dark brown tiles on one front of the bath hob and white tiles around the bath itself so I might ask what colour trim they used My karma ran over your dogma Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 6Aug 15, 2008 1:24 pm Silver was an upgrade?????????? I thought it was standard! We're having the brushed chrome ones, to match our handles - and that was standard (maybe a Lifestyle/Prestige difference...?) Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 7Aug 15, 2008 2:02 pm Bel, ours is silver and it was STANDARD! It will match our shower frames, handles, taps etc. That is absolutely crap if they said it was an upgrade. Silver looks great I'd be opting for that over a colour - you don't have to match it! That's what I would have thought - and I agree, silver kind of goes with everything, and blends in! The girl at NT told me the silver was an upgrade not my CSC - hmm I wonder if she made a mistake. Thanks guys - I just decided on the silver, even if they do charge me for it I'm sure it won't cost a bundle My karma ran over your dogma Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 10Aug 15, 2008 3:31 pm Can't believe that! My codes are BATTA930 and BATTA931 - Polished Silver and Bright Silver (one is thicker than the other) and there is no charge what-so-ever! Do you have a copy of my tile selection? If you want it showing this let me know. Happy at Home Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 12Aug 16, 2008 12:39 am Hi Bel
we opted for silver trims as well and were told at tiles appointment that they were an upgrade for around $120 for both Ensuite and Bathroom. Our tile selection papers mention about the silver trims however no extra charge. so i am sushh about it right now, i will see what final contract says, until then, i am quite about these charges. PD is ripping us off at so many places, so why not save whatever you can. Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 13Aug 16, 2008 8:58 am Good work homeishome
I'm sure they won't forget to add it to my contract It's ok $120 I can handle They must have turned it into an upgrade because everyone started to choose it My karma ran over your dogma Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 14Aug 16, 2008 9:59 am one word - crap. I can't believe that they have the made silver and upgrade but not coloured......rip off alright! Gee whiz (that's me keeping it PG)
homeishome - sssshhh is the way to go, I'm sssshhhh about something too! Might let you all in on the secret in a couple of weeks Happy at Home Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 16Aug 16, 2008 6:19 pm penny73 They werent an upgrade when I was there less than a month ago. I chose bright silver for my trims and they were standard. Same - I was there 3 weeks ago selecting tiles and got the shiny silver ones for no extra cost. I think I like the trims better though, they look very nice. Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 19Aug 18, 2008 9:34 am Need someone's help please!!
CSC just asked if I wanted polished silver or matt silver? I have no idea!! I haven't chosen my handles or anything yet for cupboards - I know I want the shiny (polished?) silver in the kitchen, but what about the bathroom?!?! What would look better - I haven't seen either IRL to have a good idea My karma ran over your dogma Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 20Aug 18, 2008 9:44 am I went matt for everything, cupboard handles, trim, door handles etc just because it doesn't show marks and fingerprints as much as the polished. Yes I'm lazy.
Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick 7 3007 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7166 Hi - thanks for your reply. Yes I think 'Ill go for whitish with very speckly bits rather than pure white something like this.
