I actually prefer the look of the matt because it is a bit more understated than the polished but it really does depend on the style of your house.
I will have a very casual look. So matt was better for me. I actually think that trim and handles are quite important as they finish the look. Terrence Malick Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 25Aug 18, 2008 9:58 am we've gone for polished silver and bright silver, they both look the same but one trim was bigger than the other hence the different code. We opted for the polished/bright to match our shiny taps and cupboard handles. Happy at Home Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 26Aug 18, 2008 10:07 am Thanks Toni
I also ended up picking the polished trims - just sent my email off to my CSC. Reasons were: Match the tapware, match the cupboard handles (which I'm sure will be chosen as polished silver) and match the mirrors. I do like Jo's idea of the matt requiring less cleaning though...I never though of that. Thanks Jo and Toni My karma ran over your dogma Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 27Aug 18, 2008 10:12 am Another thing to tick off Happy at Home Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 28Aug 18, 2008 5:52 pm Hi Bel
Good to hear that you have made a decission. feels relieved. isnt it? Yes, its definitely an upgrade now, will keep all of you updated after the contract appointment that did i or not happen to save on this bit. Bel, i went for a matt finish as well, as Jo said, its less shiny (chrome finish) and easy to keep clean. Polished silver looks great, but its just that you need an extra effort to wipe it off once in a while. But if you have all your tapware and handles in polished silver, then go for polished silver trims. Re: Trim colour in bathrooms (PD in particular) 29Aug 19, 2008 9:20 am We chose the bright silver (polished) I was worried about the finger mark thing but the lady at national said the polished doesnt show finger marks and gave me a piece to try and she was right. I didnt try really smudging my finger down the trim but certainly pressing your fingers onto it didnt leave any mark
