Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Dec 04, 2016 12:25 pm Hi, I need some advice. I am using a 300x600 tile on the wall but I'm not sure what size to use on the floor. The tiles I have chosen only come in 300x600 or 600x600. It is a narrow bathroom 1850x3300. I like symmetry so I'm worried how the 300x600 will look next to the wall where they are running the wrong way. Is the bathroom too small to get a good fall with the larger tiles? Should I consider having the 300x600 cut into 300x300 for the floors? Thanks. Re: Bathroom tile size - help needed 2Dec 05, 2016 6:09 am Have you already paid for the floor tiles, or just looking? If you have no problem as most good tilers will be able to achieve fall, but it usally involves putting 4 triangular cuts in the ties around the centre floor wastes. If you are only in the planning stages and you drainage is not installed, you could consider relocating the floor waste against a wall and then have a linear strip drain along the length of it. This way the tiles can get fall all on one plane and no need for cuts. Although moving drainage can get expensive. Good luck with it all, keep us posted with some progress photos. My builder did mention it would be harder to lay larger tiles in the bathroom, but never made any attempt to change my mind.. so I hope it works out Building Standards; Getting It Right!
