Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Sep 24, 2016 8:14 pm Hey guys, I am building my first home and drafting the plan. It`s a small one floor, 17 sq so the spaces are very limited. Do you reckon a bathroom 1580 x 3940 is too small? It should fit basin, sink, shower and bath. The 2 bedrooms ar currently 3100x3000. I can make them 3000x3000 and have a bigger bathroom 1780 x 3940. Not sure what s better. Also I found this picture which could be a good idea. It's very exciting planning everything I think this is personal preference, I personally would rather gain the extra 200mm in the bathroom. Loosing 100mm in each bedroom wouldn't make too much difference to space but having extra in bathroom will be noticeable I hope this helps Re: Narrow Bathroom 3Sep 25, 2016 8:57 am I like that picture. Not sure I totally agree with Jena. 100mm can be a big loss - if in the wrong spot eg at foot of bed/walk way. My only comments would be to ensure you have good room either side of toilet - this can be annoying for bigger people; and try to have a decent sink/bowl. Otherwise you'll get constant splashing - even when people are careful - when they wash etc That sink looks very narrow. . Re: Narrow Bathroom 5Sep 25, 2016 9:25 am luca.321 Thanks guys, What do you think about having the shower and then the bath? Re: Narrow Bathroom 6Sep 25, 2016 9:29 am Not sure what I did then - posted and only got the quote. I think the shower/bath looks good. Could be a fun thing for kids - or adults ... AND - a male thing - might help keep the bath clean. Where are you planning to put towels ? And - when only using bath you might need a mat to stop slips ? Re: Narrow Bathroom 7Sep 25, 2016 6:45 pm I like the bath then shower. Maybe add 100mm to bathroom and split the over 100mm between the bedrooms. Space is so valuable in every room of the house. Re: Narrow Bathroom 8Nov 07, 2016 11:10 am Agreed - losing 100mm in each bedroom will hardly be noticed compared to a 200mm gain in the bathroom. Plus that extra 200mm gives you a few more bath options too! Re: Narrow Bathroom 9Dec 13, 2016 12:09 pm you can make your wall 70mm instead of 200mm if that helps. Thanks again for this information. If you do hear anything different, would be great to know 4 8182 dimensions on your original plan are inconsistent and with accurate dimensions (including site plan, upstairs and down) i could make a proper scale drawing with furniture… 3 7497 A quick update, we didn't have site start before Easter. Summit can't seem to give me a day when they are scheduled to begin, so I'm left with a vague "within 10-20… 4 26742 |
