Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: Concrete render floors in bathroom 2Sep 11, 2016 5:36 pm I would consider doing this. Is it even possible? Re: Concrete render floors in bathroom 3Sep 15, 2016 8:03 am newtoyou Hi guys, I love the look and idea of no grout that comes with a concrete bathroom and shower floor- has anyone done this? How is the slip factor? Any tips on how to do correctly ? Thanks in advance ? The best way would be to pour your house slab first with the bathroom area set down probably 75-100mm, let the house be built then pour the bathroom slab last, then grind it and seal it. Like a timber floor, you wouldn't want other trades working over the top of it while the house was being constructed so you should do it last. Unless you did a matt finish on the concrete or sealer, I'd imagine any other gloss surface would be pretty slippery when it was wet. People have gloss tiles in their bathrooms though so it would be up to you. Re: Concrete render floors in bathroom 5Sep 16, 2016 7:40 am I assumed you were thinking of a ground floor bathroom with a slab on ground but if this was designed from the get-go then it would still be possible for a second storey. If the room below was another bathroom or laundry for instance you could just have a lower ceiling downstairs. Or if you were looking at doing 2.7m high ceilings then this could be over any other room. You would still have to consider the plumbing for floor wastes, toilets etc anyway so location of the bathroom is still important regardless. Stewie 2 4680 3 5588 |
