Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jul 05, 2016 8:10 am Hi guys, I am just finalising the details on the bathroom reno before I begin. I am doing 2 bathrooms at the same time as they are back to back. It is a main bathroom and ensuite. I have attached a planned layout. it is drawn to scale ( 1 square = 100mm) I just have a few questions 1) For both my showers, is it big enough for it to work as a walk in shower with no door? a) For ensuite the shower will be 1380mm x 900mm wide. Say if I put in a 800mm panel to leave a 600mm door way. Will I get too much splash outside? it is near the door way too. planning the install a linear shower grate at the shower head end of the shower. Otherwise I will need to go for a wall to wall shower. b) For my main bathroom, it is a 1200x800 (or 1100x800) shower. Was thinking I could put in say a 900mm or 1000mm panel, and then you could walk in from the end. Will the splash be too much? I'd like to make the shower 900mm wide but I am worried the gap between the shower and the vanity will be too narrow. thoughts? http://imgur.com/4OqecA0 Thanks guys. I am sure I will have many more questions as the project begins! Re: Bathroom layout and walk in shower 2Jul 07, 2016 6:46 pm Sounds like an exciting Reno. Can't open the link from my end, but we have a walk in shower with a 1meter fixed panel and it works quite well. That said there is sill some minor splash seen the kids get in I'd say you will get splash from the 800mm panel though. Here is a couple of pics of ours. If you had it flush at least to the wall you would have more bench space. Electrical just got back to me and said the most they can provide is a single power point on the Bedroom 1 side of that wall.
