Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Apr 18, 2016 5:23 pm Hi there We are building a new home and have decided to add in a freestanding bath instead of the standard hob bath My only concern is that there is 1900mm from shower to wall and they have said that we cannot have the 1760mm bath as it won't fit!?!?! It would leave 70mm at either end of the bath between wall and bath and shower and bath, is this not enough? Otherwise we have to go the 1560 option which isn't too bad, but the extra 140mm on the base (1140mm compared to 1000mm) would have been much much better!!! Re: Freestanding bath size 3Apr 18, 2016 11:29 pm Having 100mm all round clearance is better as that is what you need to get your arm and a sponge down there to clean. 70mm, and you'll only be able to stick a vacuum hose down there. Stewie Re: Freestanding bath size 4Apr 19, 2016 2:17 pm No it's the fixed side of the shower that will be there. We are only offered the two sizes unfortunately. May have to change over later as the upgrade cost to get this over the hob bath isn't too high. Stewie yes i thought of cleaning, however there should be room lower down to clean as nothing will be immediately next to the bath to have to worry about squeezing in next to if that makes sense. Just thought maybe there was a regulation that was preventing us from getting it with only the 70mm gap at each end. Re: Freestanding bath size 6Apr 20, 2016 10:06 pm hmmm, they haven't been great at allowing us to provide our own things but i might have to ask, 1560 is a bit too squishy, i found one at a display today to try out lol Bathroom renovation will likely include a back-to-corner bath and we’re considering a freestanding tap with hand-held shower such as the picture included.
