Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Feb 12, 2016 3:51 pm I’m considering purchasing an original postwar weatherboard property and raising, doing a full renovation upstairs and building-in downstairs. The only issue I have with the current house is the layout. I will be removing walls and changing the layout extensively, however the bathroom is located almost in the middle of the house and I can’t figure out a good layout without actually moving the bathroom. My question therefore is what is the additional cost and potential difficulties of actually moving the bathroom to a different location in the house? Given the extensive renovation I would not have thought the cost of moving the bathroom would be excessive compared to gutting and redoing the bathroom. My concern is more dealing with the space where the bathroom was and removing the tiles, restoring the floorboards etc. to look the same as the rest of the house. Any thoughts on this? Re: Moving bathroom to different part of house 2Feb 14, 2016 11:17 am No one will give you an idea of price on a forum, but I assure you it will be piddled into insignificance compared to the cost of the rest of the reno and the gain in value from doing it. Move it to the outer walls of the house and there will be little issue. Turn it into a huge walk in storage area, houses never have enough storage these days! yep you need a joint, foam is easiest, will look fine once rendered with a joint. 2 5228 Hi, have purchased a house with 2 single garage doors.
