Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Feb 06, 2016 8:00 am Hey Guys Just thought I would share with you what it cost to renovate our bathroom. The raw costs to us were just over 20K, that would have cost the average person closer to 30K if they hired a builder or bathroom company. I go into detail in this blog post I wrote for what each line item cost was to get to the 20K - http://www.renovationjunkies.com.au/wha ... -bathroom/ And did I mention the room is only 1.6meters wide by 2.7meters long... Yep the cost can add up even in a small bathroom! Have you guys renovated a bathroom? If so I'd love to know what it cost you, or what you plan on spending. Cheers, James. I like your logic, a trip to Europe would be my preference as well. Sometimes a basic tidy up is all a bathroom needs. I can see a big cost saving was you could leave all your plumbing in the same location, that is always a big plus. 💰 Did you lay the tiles yourself? 📐 Re: What does it cost to Renovate a Bathroom? 12Jun 15, 2016 8:11 pm I had to move the shower drain and bath drain Re: What does it cost to Renovate a Bathroom? 14Jun 22, 2016 2:19 pm SCBAM As a lic bathroom renovator in S.A. I can say it is between 8 and 25 k. most around the 10k mark. Thanks for the input mate, it really depends on the level of finishes as to where people will end up on the scale. After renovating homes for more than 15 years I'd say 90% of homes for customers were closer to the 20k and above from my experience. Unless people are will to get in and tackle most of the work and be hands on they will end up being closer to that mark. Just trying to manage expectations 😄 Re: What does it cost to Renovate a Bathroom? 16Jun 25, 2016 7:25 am traveln Where do you hang your clothes or towel? On a towel rack, not sure if you can see it on our example but we fitted a heated towel rack on the wall opposite our basin. Re: What does it cost to Renovate a Bathroom? 17Jul 29, 2016 1:55 pm Just recently renovated the bathroom and cost about $15k. That included moving pipes and wiring. Make sure you project manage it yourself to save money. That's where most of the cost goes when you hire a reno company. Re: What does it cost to Renovate a Bathroom? 18Sep 18, 2016 9:17 pm We recently renovated a 2.8 x 2.8 which included moving the plumbing to relocate the shower to the other side of the room and filling in a window with bricks. Our quotes varied from $16K - 43K (4 builders) for exactly the same thing! The bathroom reno companies were the most expensive, the small builder was the cheapest and did a great job. The trick is all in the upfront planing, the more effort you put in before you start on site the more money and stress you can save yourself. There are 5 key stages to a good Reno - 1.Research Stage. 2.Planning Stage. 3.Pre-Construction Stage. 4.Construction Stage. 5.Job Completion Stage. It's in the first three stages where most of the work will take place, and if done correctly the last two stages should go smoothly. It really is all about good project management. I am actually in the process of creating an online course stepping through each one of these stages in more detail, fingers crossed it should be ready in the next few months.
