Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Feb 05, 2016 9:07 am I'm putting in a set in bathtub where there was one before the previous owner converted it to shower only. I'm putting in a alcove bath: 3 tiled walls, and a tiled apron on front. Using the Caroma Sterling shower/bath combo. The wall framing is 40 yr old hardward. Very hard to cut. Question for Chippies- when I take the tiles and villaboard off and it reveals no notching for the previous tub, can I get away with sitting the tub straight into a framework nailed to the studs? i see a Bunnings video where the chippy has done just that. Question for plumbers: the old waste is into the concrete slab. I'm going to have a job lining the new tub waste directly over the floor waste. So is there any tolerance here, and how much room should I leave under the new tub for connection to floor waste? Thank you kindly.
