Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jul 21, 2008 2:52 pm I went and picked some more!
These are my original ones: dark chocolate floor, white walls and glass mosaic feature tiles (same colours for both bathrooms, only different feature tiles - features were going to go in shower niches and a strip below mirror). (Laminex stipple cocoa for cupboards and polar white benchtops.) Although I still love the floor tiles, I no longer like the white with it (too much contrast maybe?) and am a bit over the glass mosaic features. Ensuite: bottom is light sandy-coloured 300x600 porcelain tile for floor, right tile is a beautiful embossed tile which would go on one shower wall, the smaller tile is similar colour only slightly darker shade, to go on other walls & possibly up side of bath (other option for up bath is floor tiles again). Second pic is feature pebble which I think I'd put vertically up one shower wall - it's shown in this pic with white tile. (think I am leaning towards ivory myself?) I would also have to re-select laminates for cupboards and benchtops if I was to go with the new ones. But prepared to do so for the right combination Thanks all for your opinions! Re: I got sick of my tiles, so ... 2Jul 21, 2008 3:33 pm Hello donuts,
Well why not select new tiles? It's hard to see the embossed tile in the pic but I know the tile and it is very classy. You know I'm not a browns, beige person but looks good to me! As for the kids bathroom, personally I'd go for the white. It makes the feature more of a.....ummm....feature! But the ivory would give a more integrated look and it sounds like that's more you!! I like the integrated look as well. All good to me! Can I ask if the floor tile is the lithic noce? It looks like it. That would make it the same as mine but different colour! Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: I got sick of my tiles, so ... 3Jul 21, 2008 4:04 pm Hi Donuts, I like all your selections before and afters!!! Personally I like white for the showers, looks cleaner but that's just me The embossed tile looks lovely (I'm sure someone else around here has an embossed tile.... found it - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.p ... c&start=30 - page 3
Oh and I love the glass tiles which you are no longer having and I love the feature pebble too! Happy at Home Re: I got sick of my tiles, so ... 4Jul 21, 2008 5:52 pm joles Well why not select new tiles? Exactly Jo! Just hope DH doesn't freak out when he gets home ... any minute now Thanks for the advice, yes I think I must be a more integrated girl and think you're right the white might look better with the pebbles... Quote: Can I ask if the floor tile is the lithic noce? It looks like it. That would make it the same as mine but different colour! Jo I don't know what it's called did you get yours from Beaumont? They were quite prominent in the shop and came in lots of different colours so they probably were the same ones. Did you go all the way out to Oakleigh to choose them or wait for the Hoppers Crossing one to open recently? Thanks H2B, sounds like I can't go wrong then! which is good to know. The more I look at them, the more I like them. I remember seeing that one in lrhodes's thread, looking again now I think it's exactly the same one but different colour! While I'm at it, here is a pic of the new tile I chose for kitchen splashback (with the caesarstone benchtop sample). It's called ice cream Not good quality actually and excuse my toe but anyway... We had to do selections at Oakleigh anyway.
Is there a number on the sticker on that tile? It will be similar to my number if it's the same range. The reason I was asking is because Anne who built the Grandview up in Bribie used the lithic noce so I thought you could have a look on her thread and see them laid! Nice socks or are your feet webbed? Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Hope DH takes the news okay! I swapped our floor tile and added feature to the bath hob and my DH still doesn't know and to be honest I don't think he'll notice when they do eventually go in. Well I think he might notice the hob feature but he won't notice the floor I think the embossed tile looks very......ummm.....grand, like something you'd see in a grand old mansion or something or maybe in Europe....... Happy at Home Re: I got sick of my tiles, so ... 7Jul 21, 2008 6:06 pm Hoppers Crossing only just opened in the last week or so.
97305P is the number on the tile. Will go across and have another look at Anne's ones now, thanks for the tip! There was a board of ones on the wall in the shop, but no grout so didn't look as good. Kitchen cupboards will be glossy white vinyl wrap, with brushed chrome rod-style handles. Yuor s/back will look lovely just you wait and see. When you say grand, do you mean good grand? Re: I got sick of my tiles, so ... 9Jul 21, 2008 6:13 pm Yours may be lighter then Anne's. But I remember when we picked ours, I was thinking "that's Anne's colour "and then there was a lighter one so maybe that's yours! Now I can't find my code. But yours are the same size as the lithic so Anne's pics will still give an indication of the look. Anne's are lovely and she has the integrated look with the tiles up over the bath. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: I got sick of my tiles, so ... 10Jul 21, 2008 6:22 pm just had another look at Anne's, yes think hers might be a touch darker than mine. you can see they are quality tiles though.
are yours maybe the ones to the left in the last pic i posted? Re: I got sick of my tiles, so ... 11Jul 21, 2008 6:24 pm Yep good grand like in the old Mansions. We went into some lovely "houses" in Europe and they had such beautiful bathrooms and curtains and wall paper etc. I think the embossed looks classy, reminds me of ladyice's WIR Happy at Home Re: I got sick of my tiles, so ... 14Jul 21, 2008 7:46 pm I like this.....

You have choosen such beautiful rich floor tile with white as a contrast and stunning mosiacs. I have also chosen mosiacs but in the green range. The other selections I feel are the "safe colours" nice but....
If you wanted the two bathrooms different, change the colour of the mosiacs, I think Petal had the same mosiacs as me but for the kids bathrooms she has a vibrant red mosiac. Anyway, as I said, I'm no help and probably just have confused you even more Mrs B Re: I got sick of my tiles, so ... 16Jul 21, 2008 8:17 pm I also forgot to add that I would go for a larger floor tile in the chocolate colour...how beautiful would that look
Mrs B Re: I got sick of my tiles, so ... 17Jul 21, 2008 8:37 pm Donuts, how did you go with DH?? Happy at Home Re: I got sick of my tiles, so ... 18Jul 21, 2008 8:56 pm Thanks Paula & Mrs B Mrs B, you prefer more of a contrast look? You're right it would make more of a statement... Maybe I could go choc floor tiles with pebble feature ...??
I also prefer bigger dark choc tiles, but they only come in matt not polished - was going to do the big matt ones in the kids bathroom, and smaller polished in ours, if I went with this colour scheme. H2B, DH did not freak out and is fine with changing , but we are both still not sure. One thing with the new tiles we are unsure about, is that our shower has 3 sides, so not sure where to put which tiles - with the new colours, it might be very dark in there! But if we went with floor tiles on one wall, we'd have 3 different colour walls, which might look weird! Might be one to sleep on I think... Re: I got sick of my tiles, so ... 19Jul 21, 2008 9:04 pm TDL, yes the pebble is nice isn't it! Thanks, I think I will maybe definitely keep the pebble then, maybe with the chocolate floor, at least in one bathroom.
Joles - is probably not blue! Is probably my cr@ppy camera! But if you do go to Hoppers they are very nice there Re: I got sick of my tiles, so ... 20Jul 21, 2008 9:10 pm Keep the pebble, it's lovely and sound like it will go nicely with the choc tile.
Yep sleep on it and see how you go tomorrow. Stare at them all day tomorrow Put them in front of you while feeding DD I had to pack mine all away because after awhile I wasn't sure if I still liked them!
