when we bought our current home it was that horrible 70's duck egg green inside and out, the place had green "jungle print" curtains and horrible swirly 70's green/brown carpet. Carpet went out over the front balcony first day!! think they had a green fetish Re: Feature Tiles 44Jul 17, 2008 10:16 pm Paula Peter_OZ that colour is just sooo gross Thanks Yeah Peter, Paula just ordered her jungle green curtains yesterday! Really sorry Bel Paula Re: Feature Tiles 49Jul 18, 2008 9:50 am I'm a bit over the vertical feature tiles, I would try do something a bit different.
I like the Cremorne Pakenham bathroom, just one strip along the front of the bath and none in the shower. Happy at Home Re: Feature Tiles 51Jul 18, 2008 10:07 am No, not here, but my mum had them in her old house, maybe that's why I'm sick of them.
In our current home we have lovely country garden style features tiles splattered around the walls I do think the vertical tiles are nice, but personally I'm just a bit over them and would prefer something different. In our new house we are not having any feature tiles at all - can't get sick of none, or can I? LOL Re: Feature Tiles 52Jul 18, 2008 10:51 am Rachelle No, not here, but my mum had them in her old house, maybe that's why I'm sick of them. We had horizontal in our old house that we sold and in this rental we don't have any but we do have one lovely sunshine yellow bathroom and toilet and one lovely royal blue ensuite!!! Even the toilets are yellow and blue! We are trying to have different things in our new house so vertical instead of horizontal, glass splash back instead of tiles and two panel doors instead of four! Everything went well, Elise was really nice, she let me cancel things out on my own and if I was really stuck she would come in with her suggestions I told her I was trying to narrow it down b/w Urban Earth and Urban Cloud for the floor, she said well that choice has been made for you, neither are available anymore.... After sh!tting myself quietly, I searched through some other tiles and came up with one called Kimberly LIME (Yes Lime!!) but it isn't green at all, its very similar to the Urban Cloud, probably a bit warmer but also a touch lighter. I am very happy with it. I also chose the rectangle 300 x 100 white gloss tiles for the showers/bath, I did end up going with a feature. It is a really nice earthy textured stone, in light brown, dark brown and stone coloured square/rectangle shapes...I don't have a pic as there were no samples left but Elise said she would send some out. I decided to have the feature across the top of the bath and horizontally around the top of each shower. For the powder I was really stuck, so Elise suggested a row of the white rectangle tiles then a row (same width) of the feature I am having in the bathrooms then another row of the white tiles. It looked really good and also cut my costs down! I let Elise choose the trim (?) colour and grout colour as by this stage I was over it! Grand total $977!!! DH was very impressed, we budgeted $1500! I will post pics once the camera is charged, just trying to decide between QQ Ice or QQ Coral Reef for the bench tops now Rachelle - I agree with you on the vertical features, they don't appeal to me as much. I'm also a bit over 'feature tiles' so to speak, but as my bathroom is very light and plain Elise and I both agreed it needed something in it with a bit of 'wow' factor.
