Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Sep 15, 2015 6:21 pm I'm just after some thoughts on the colour choices of tiles for ensuite and main bathroom. It's doing my head in! I am so not loving picking out colours, I'm just not good at it and paranoid I'll hate it when the house is built! I'm second guessing everything. Why is it so hard! We are after grey tiles, something that won't show dirt/mould too badly, doesn't darken room and won't outdate too fast. I'm stuck whether to do whole ensuite in the one tile colour or like the display home do the floor in one tile and the shower wall in another. If you have grey tiles in your bathroom I'd love to see some inspiration. I'll start with ensuite. Here is some pics from display home. Ensuite http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv34/beckles5000/Ensuite%20sinks_zpspbb5boqt.jpg Will be a large shower niche in centre of shower which will be visible as walk into ensuite. (Will be a double shower). http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv34/beckles5000/Ensuite%20shower_zpssulmcno6.jpg This is the benchtop colour we have picked. The sample I have I think looks a little darker then this. http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv34/beckles5000/Oiled%20Soapstone_zpsl0sxopzb.jpg Original flooring we picked until we went off and picked benchtop colour. Vinyl planks for kitchen/family room/halls. Bottom tile is same colour just one on left is matt and one on right is gloss. The multi colour tile was an idea for the ensuite niche, not sure if it will work. http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv34/beckles5000/Flooring_zpsuaobe5vi.jpg Now maybe thinking this darker grey tile? http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv34/beckles5000/Flooring2_zpsyfk5yaah.jpg Mucking around with visualisers http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv34/beckles5000/Ensuite2_zpseartioaw.png This pic is using the actual bench colour we chose. http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv34/beckles5000/Ensuite%20with%20Oiled%20soapstone%20bench_zpsvyhr3d0u.jpg And this is the display main bathroom http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv34/beckles5000/Main%20bathroom_zpsub7rbr2h.jpg Display main shower http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv34/beckles5000/Main%20Bathroom%20shower_zpsodvto2sk.jpg Visualiser http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv34/beckles5000/Bathroom1_zpslr5nq0lj.png http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv34/beckles5000/Bathroom2_zpseyqzubd5.png Re: Grey bathroom tiles help 3Sep 17, 2015 5:45 am Oooo these are nice. Are they Nu marble fr Beaumont? And given they are more the marble look I don't think they will date. I do love the concrete look tiles but i do worry that it is just a trend and they will date too fast. I also wanted greys and stony looking tiles but given that I am already thinking I made a big mistake with what I picked, I won't make any specific recommendations- other than take the samples home and look at them in different lights M Y C U S T O M C O R A L B R O N T E 43 ...............Kitchen! 16 Nov 2016 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=79581 Re: Grey bathroom tiles help 4Sep 17, 2015 9:21 am We used grey with white cabinets bath and toilet I think it turned out nicely Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b38/njectme/Forever%20House/F3BE5FE7-27FD-4285-B752-41226BC4720A_zpsoc07t6gh.jpg Re: Grey bathroom tiles help 5Sep 17, 2015 10:40 am MrBee We used grey with white cabinets bath and toilet I think it turned out nicely http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b38/njectme/Forever%20House/20_zps7qj1e3be.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b38/njectme/Forever%20House/19_zpsbzavgsqs.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b38/njectme/Forever%20House/F3BE5FE7-27FD-4285-B752-41226BC4720A_zpsoc07t6gh.jpg oooh that's a gorgeous looking bathroom Mr Bee! The darker grey sample is our bench tops in bathrooms too. http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv34/beckles5000/Tiles_zpssib2myvy.jpg Bathrooms. Large square grey tile for floors and one side of bath. Other long grey tile for inside showers, above vanitys and above bath. Gosh I hope it turns out ok. http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv34/beckles5000/Tiles2_zpsf803bl1g.jpg Re: Grey bathroom tiles help 8Sep 22, 2015 12:07 pm This thread is the epitomy of my current thoughts. Had a week for prestart and panicking. Pushed it back a week so i have this weekend to think and browse crosby tiles etc. I had similar thoughts, follow display homes with the paint walls and floor tiling going up one wall of shower, or sometimes shower completely different glossy white tiles usually. Or go with the all wall tiled look. Gf thinks my initial choice of that taupe grey style made the bathroom all Doom and gloom but looking at the contrasting use of the white gloss and white stone tops make me wonder if i can pull it off. I'm intending to rent it out for long term, personal taste aside do you guys think the grey white black ensuite / bathroom look will appeal to most tenants? I think the dark tiles and grout are recommended for wet areas or rentals in general to hide mould and dirt correct? Keep up the inspirational photo ideas, loving it and saving as many as i can. I'm tossing up whether to go the dark brown or black vanity top with light woodeny laminate or white gloss below. Or do the reverse. What do you think has the most effect? Looking for something modern and gives of a sophisticated look without dating as rentals probably won't be looked after. Coincidentally I went into trevors carpets and the guy recommended over the wooden laminates the vinyl planking. Yours is the ones that are water proof and just stick down right? They look like tiles or wooden flooring and can be removed and restuck down when one needs replacing?? Has anyone tried these on the main living areas vs tiles? Just wondering if they feel tacky or aren't as practical as tiles. I like that they're water proof. If the vinyl planking is what i think it is. All 3 items listed are defects and are of concern. Would you consider accessing the separate toilet from the laundry? If so maybe… 1 11253 Render your bathroom walls, two opinions versus the one, makes you wonder. 3 6062 |
