Re: Double shower width 5Sep 04, 2015 4:54 pm oneJohn Ours is about 850 wide inside, and I think that's fairly normal, but you probably don't want to much less than than. Thanks oneJohn. do you find it a bit cramped being 850 wide? Re: Double shower width 6Sep 04, 2015 5:12 pm I was told 900x1800 was enough to consider a double shower head.... And have measured many glass panels in display homes...at least 1100 for glass as a minimum seems the ultimate for walk ins. Mine will only be 900 so I'm a bit scared. Bare in mind once they hit a particular size they apparently need to secure the glass to ceiling with metal rods if not full height glass M Y C U S T O M C O R A L B R O N T E 43 ...............Kitchen! 16 Nov 2016 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=79581 Re: Double shower width 7Sep 05, 2015 8:54 am Hi A standard shower is 900 x 900, a good sized shower is 1000 x 1000. For a double shower I would not have it any smaller than 900 x 1600. If you had your shower at 2000mm wide you could have two 700mm sheets of glass on either side with a 600mm opening in the centre eliminating the need for a door. Its a great look. You just have to make sure that the tiling is done right, so the water falls where you want it. If I can be of any help with your design, please just let me know. Cheers Re: Double shower width 8Sep 05, 2015 9:41 am I find 850 is fine, but I think it is nominally 900, it's just that after the walling, tiling and frame widths it ends up more like 850. Re: Double shower width 9Sep 09, 2015 10:44 am Measured ours and its at 960 wide which I think will be ok. We decided against glass panels and are just going to have a tiled wall with an open side. We have a ceiling mounted shower head and a wall mounted, hand held one to make cleaning a bit easier. Originally I wanted it at 1000mm wide but I think that may have been a little too much with the open side... Thanks again for this information.
