Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Aug 18, 2015 5:33 pm My builder built my bathroom. Used standard plasterboard for the bathroom walls. I told them I was going to add porcelain tiles from ground to ceiling height after handover... so that is what I did, it has glossy standard 300x600 porcelain tiles from beaumont tiles. However, I was on the phone today to another retailer because I wanted to add some stone cladding panels to my hallway, the rep said the wall needs to be in blueboard or cement sheet to support the load. Now I'm concerned . Will the porcelain tiles in my bathroom fall on my head one day??? It seems to be fine so far (about 12 months since I moved in)... At my other house which was built with another builder, I think they did the same thing to it but it was just normal tiles not porcelain and its been fine (8 years) Can any experts chime in? Thanks! However, make sure that you waterproof the plasterboard before placing your porcelain tiles there. Don’t worry. The tiles shouldn’t fall off if it is fixed properly. yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 5331 Thank you alexp79 and gommeqld for your advice, that's very helpful, thanks 3 7942 What we have done in a few theatres ( including my own) is run 2 layers of 13mm gyprock, but sounds insulation especially for the bass is really tricky as a lot of that… 4 2576 |
