Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Aug 06, 2015 8:24 am We are doing a bathroom renovation and because our bathroom is small with a massive window, it's made it difficult without having to move plumbing around. We are trying to keep the same plumbing except for the toilet which will be moved. We seem to have settled on this but I can't help think I'm missing something that could be wrong with it. Sorry for the home designed layout....LOL. It is to scale though so this is what it will look like. Does this look OK/functional? Remember you don't have to have the sink in the middle of the vanity, it maybe possible to offset it which may work better (ie plumbing space) with the drawers/cupboards underneath Re: Does this layout seem OK? 3Aug 06, 2015 3:52 pm Thanks...good idea. The tallboy won't be as high as that picture shows, we might even go with a low boy but I do like the idea of reversing it. Although then if we're standing at the vanity we are so close to the toilet Re: Does this layout seem OK? 4Aug 07, 2015 6:31 am Can you go a CSD? I think that will help make it feel bigger if there's not a hinged door to deal with. Also agree with precious comment to move the cupboard. Could you actually delete the cupboard and do shaving cabinet mirrors for storage, drawers under vanity and then open shelves under the drawers for towels and make a feature? Re: Does this layout seem OK? 7Aug 08, 2015 2:35 pm We can't put the vanity under the window because we wouldn't be able to have a mirror there then. We can't relocate the door either Right now we actually have CSD and I hate it. I don't mind the door swinging in so much. I think what we've decided is instead of the tallboy we'll put a short storage unit and put a couple of floating shelves above that for my candles and stuff. Re: Does this layout seem OK? 9Dec 10, 2015 3:53 pm You've got to think about towel rails too. I'm not sure if you're tiling up the walls, but if you are there's a company that does a glue on towel rail range. They stick to glasss and tile. I've bought two towel hooks and a shower rail off them, and they're stronger than screws. http://www.neverdrillagain.com.au/ Re: Does this layout seem OK? 10Jan 21, 2016 5:48 pm RedJason You've got to think about towel rails too. We've only just started on our bathroom so this will come in handy. Thanks They using concrete or timber sleepers? Timber or steel uprights? Any drainage behind sleeper? 3 5831 Thanks for the suggestion. The space between shower and sinks was too tight. I agree about the toilet location. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 6128 Possibly both depending on the sizing. Idea of working from the centre is that you dont have a 20mm thin tile at one end and a 400mm at the other end. A quick search on… 3 8403 |
