I'm going to do it after I tile my bathroom just wanted to know how you went about securing it on and what you used to seal the timber ? Thanks Re: Timber panels on ceiling 2Jun 18, 2015 11:27 pm Remove plasterboard Attach with stainless brads or bullet heads Finish with http://www.dulux.com.au/specifier/produ ... oduct=2036 Re: Timber panels on ceiling 3Jun 18, 2015 11:35 pm I was thinking of fixing solid battons to the ceiling painting it all black then brad nailing cedar panels up, with 5-10mm space between panels do you think that would work? 19mm thick 90mm wide Re: Timber panels on ceiling 4Jun 19, 2015 12:39 pm yeh just get a stud finder (30 bucks at bunnings) and put some screws through it to the battons. make it minimal spacing, 3-5mm. Give them a coat of the polyurethane before installing, then one final coat once theyre up there! Re: Timber panels on ceiling 5Jun 19, 2015 5:00 pm Personally for that sort of look I'd just use 120mm x 12mm V-joint cedar boards. You could at a pinch just secret nail them as long as you use glue as well meaning apart from any necessary trim around the perimeter no nail holes to fill and sand. Is there specific polyurethane that I need to get and do you think they will need re coating on a regular basis?
