Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 May 13, 2015 10:24 am Just a quesiton... we have a double shower in ensuite, ie 1800 x 900 in size with a shower head each end and two separate mixers. now how does it work when two shower at same time, do you lose water pressure (im ok with a slight drop) or does one lose the hot water? My thinking is that in a traditional setup when you are having a shower and someone uses the kitchen tap on hot your shower goes cold... so how does a duel shower work in reality and how do you stop this sort of thing happening? Re: How do dual shower heads and mixers work in the same sho 2May 13, 2015 1:14 pm Depends how good the water pressure is in your house I would think. We have 3 shower heads in our double shower and they can all be on at once with decent pressure and definitely hot enough! My mums house (30 years old) struggles with 2 showers on though so might be a gamble or could be old infrastructure vs new Re: How do dual shower heads and mixers work in the same sho 3May 13, 2015 3:46 pm xxkatxx Depends how good the water pressure is in your house I would think. I'd have thought a house might have a drop in pressure if two were on in the same shower. What are your plans - to shower together ... - just a visual idea for people to say - wow - or have all the kids in at once ... Can't see the point if only one person is in the shower at a time. Another thing you need to look at is that some shower mixers actually require a pressure limiting valve to be installed in your system somewhere otherwise you will void the manufacturers warranty. YMMV as they say and this is where an experienced and conscientious plumber comes into their own. Stewie Block of two storey townhouses requires painting on the roof.
