Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Apr 04, 2015 4:46 pm Please can someone offer help and advice on buying vanities for our bathroom renovation?! Where can I buy reasonable priced vanities in Melbourne, or is it better to get one custom made, can anyone recommend some places to me. The main problem I have is budget, our builder has only factored an allowance of $1,000 for a vanity!! Now I don't want rubbish from Bunnings so I can't see how I can get a vanity this cheap, happy to pay extra up to say $1,500. Looked at Reece today and prices are way over our budget this is what our plans are for, length maximum 1500mm wide, floating preferable with double basins. this bathroom is for 2 girls so a double basin is ideal but we can go for single if the prices are too high. Would really appreciate some help Re: Cost of Bathroom vanities 2Apr 04, 2015 7:09 pm If your budget is limited then really I suggest you stick to one basin. Doubling up means doubling the cost of basins and tap ware, plus leaving minimal bench space for all the girly stuff (although that depends on the amount of storage below (not taken up by sinks), and above (further costs)). Re: Cost of Bathroom vanities 3Apr 07, 2015 9:07 pm Well I've been researching heaps and finally found a pretty good option which will be close to our budget. Has anyone used Fontaine Ind for vanities? We can get a 1500mm white gloss 2 pac vanity for $1,000 inc stone benchtop but we might remove the benchtop and source our own . I have found a local factory where I can get caesarstone or similar made to fit for under $500. at least then we can select the right colour. So we will end up with a 1500mm wide white gloss 2 pac vanity with stone top for under $1,500 which sell in stores for closer to $3k. Thanks, we have decided to go with a single bowl to maximise bench space, good tip thanks Re: Cost of Bathroom vanities 5Apr 07, 2015 10:12 pm Our builder's allowance for vanities is $800 each and I too have been researching as I want quality but want to try to stay within budget. I've found Timberline vanities to be good value for money and have found the one I want within budget from our local supplier. They have them in Victoria www.bigaplus.com.au which may help you if you have a store close to where you live.
